A piecing together.
Honoring the rich and long under-valued history of makers who knit and sewed and quilted beautiful, functional, and considered objects for the home. I learned the foundations of sewing, quilting, and knitting as a kid, but picking them back up as an adult (with more patience, a decade of designing and creating art, and the tireless desire to learn and learn and learn under my belt) has been rewarding beyond measure.

Process
So much time. More time than you might imagine. Sometimes things are drawn first, sometimes I’ll study a pattern. I always choose colors, materials, and the layout of them. Fabric is ironed and measured and cut and sewn and ironed again and then sewn again and then there are twelve more steps and eventually you have a quilt. My knitting almost always involves trying to parse a pattern, looking up types of stitches and how to do them, troubleshooting mistakes, but sitting and paying attention for a long time, and when it’s done it feels like I’ve completed a magic trick.
